Time To Move 2016

Eurodesk is a free information service for young people (13-30) and those who work with them on working, studying, training and volunteering opportunities in Europe, European programmes and youth policies. Eurodesk Ireland is part of LEARGAS and is funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs and the European Commission.

WHAT: 
-        This is a one-day national event, celebrating the Europe-wide <A HREF="http://www.timetomove.info" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Eurodesk campaign “Time To Move”</A> which promotes mobility opportunities for young people in Europe
-        Eurodesk Ireland will be launching the new European Voluntary Service video, comprised of interviews with Irish volunteers
-        Guest speakers on the day will be Mary Cunningham (National Youth Council of Ireland), Hilary Tierney (National University of Ireland, Maynooth), Helen Walmsley (Voluntary Service International) 
-        Discussion will be moderated by Patrick Burke (Youth Work Ireland)
-        The day will also include an Info Fair and Workshops (see below)
-        This event is a joint initiative of <A HREF="http://www.eurodesk.ie/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Eurodesk Ireland</A>, <A HREF="https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=zsZk_dpph2o0.kEEof0mSjVlA&msa=0&ie=UTF8&t=m&ll=53.47497,-7.921143&spn=3.793059,4.932861&z=7&source=embed" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Youth Information Services</A>, <A HREF="http://www.europedirect.ie/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Europe Direct Information Centres</A> and <A HREF="http://www.spunout.ie/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Spunout</A>, in cooperation with <A HREF="http://www.euroguidance.ie/#sthash.5KOFJoJn.dpbs" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Euroguidance</A>  
 WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Youth workers and leaders, youth information workers, guidance counsellors, ETB youth officers, career officers in colleges, student unions, placement officers at colleges, college chaplains, Europe Direct Information Centres, librarians, Citizens’ Information Centres 
WHY:
-        To reflect together about benefits and challenges of youth mobility in the current context 
-        To meet and network with organisations interested in supporting young people in their mobility projects 
-        To find out about opportunities for young people to work, train, study and volunteer in Europe
 
WORKSHOPS: 
 o    Networking at a local level to support mobility of young people especially those with fewer opportunities - Susan Scott, Crosscare Clondalkin Youth Service &amp; Bernard Hackett, Waterford Youth Information Centre
 o   Challenges to youth mobility and how to deal with them - Deirdre Quinlan, Eolas Soileir
 o   European Voluntary Service (EVS) hands-on experience and good practice sharing - Gareth Gibson, Donegal Youth Service &amp; Helen Butler, Youth Work Ireland Galway
 o  “Their Country is Europe Now: advising students on opportunities to study in Europe” - Guy Flouch, European University Central Application Support Office &amp; Kieran Shaughnessy, Europe Direct Information Centre Balliansloe
