Step into the enchanting world of tile-making with Ana Sofia, the designer and artisan behind Alzuleycha.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll discover the timeless art of creating beautiful tiles from start to finish, deeply inspired by the rich history and intricate beauty of Portuguese tilework and artisans. You will be guided through every step of the process, covering essential techniques for shaping and forming the clay with precision, understanding the crucial stages of drying, and finally, bringing your creations to life with diverse painting and decorating methods, echoing the artistry of historic azulejos.This tile painting workshop is perfect as a crafty date idea or if you're looking for unique things to do in San Jose. Come unleash your inner artisan and craft unique pieces that reflect both your personal style and the enduring legacy of Portuguese tile artistry.Please Note: While you'll complete your masterpiece in class, your tiles won't be ready to take home that day. Your handcrafted tiles will undergo a kiln firing after the workshop to ensure their durability and vibrant finish. Your beautiful, fired tiles will be available for pick-up approximately two weeks after the workshop.What you'll getA handmade tile after it has been fired in the kiln (pick up on separate day)

About the Instructor:Ana Sofia, is the founder and designer of Alzuleycha. Born and raised in Lisbon, this city's vibrant energy and rich history is her muse.Throughout her studies and career in interior design and architecture, she witnessed Lisbon's evolution firsthand. While cities grow, it's important to preserve their architectural heritage. That's why Ana Sofia founded Alzuleycha – to celebrate the beauty of traditional Portuguese architecture with a modern twist. Alzuleycha transforms classic architectural details into stunning decorative pieces for contemporary homes. These handcrafted works of art bring a touch of Lisbon's unique character to any space.
