NOTE: Proper clothing and PPE are required when welding. All students must wear a cotton top, denim jeans or other natural cotton pants, and leather or cotton close-toed shoes. Hair ties if hair is long. Polyester materials and skin-tight clothing may not be worn in this class.

Safety is always the first priority when welding. There is a safety section which will cover general metal shop safety, hazards associated with compressed (inert) gas, hazards associated with arc welding ( UV exposure, electrocution, arc burning), hazards associated with hot metal welding (burns, flammability) and safety precautions to prevent each of these.
