Provide your input on what you want the future trails of Blackstrap Preserve & N. Falmouth Community Forest to look like!
Join the Falmouth Land Trust, the Town of Falmouth, and Greater Portland NEMBA for a community open house and workshop focused on the future of trails at Blackstrap Preserve and North Falmouth Community Forest.
The Outdoor Sport Institute (OSI) has been engaged to develop a professional trail master plan for these two keystone properties along the eastern edge of the Falmouth-Windham Corridor. For years, these forests have provided popular opportunities for mountain biking, hiking, and snowmobiling. Over time, however, storms, erosion, and increasing use have taken a toll on portions of the trail network.
OSI is working with project partners to create a long-term vision for sustainable, enjoyable, and resilient trails that can serve the Greater Portland community for decades to come.
This open forum will provide an opportunity for attendees to:
- Share ideas for trail improvements and enhancements
- Discuss recreational opportunities and accessibility
- Provide input on how trails can better serve community needs
- Help shape future planning efforts
Organizers encourage anyone with an interest in local trails—from casual walkers to outdoor enthusiasts—to attend and participate in this collaborative conversation.
The event is open to all ages and designed to be flexible. Attendees can participate at their own pace by visiting a series of interactive stations and kiosks. Most participants can provide meaningful feedback in as little as 10-15 minutes, and members of the project team will be available throughout the event to answer questions and discuss ideas.
Come help shape the next generation of trails at Blackstrap and North Falmouth Community Forest!
