Tea Pad DC: Legal Ninety Years Later, We're Legal in DC!

Overview

After 90 years, Tea Pad is legal in D.C.! Fundraiser wth live jazz, infused libations & talk. Medical cannabis registration required.

In the 1920s, a tea pad was where you gathered despite the law. On October 29, it's when we come together legally.

Tea Pad returns to the District — three miles from the Capitol, inside a licensed consumption lounge. For the first time, the name isn't a metaphor; it's the venue. Same gathering, same jazz, same conversation — always empowering equity in the cannabis industry. Now empowering women to innovate and advance in the cannabis industry.

Live jazz. Good eats. Plentiful libations (infused on 10/29!). Provocative conversation.

One room, three markets. Maryland, DC, and Virginia are three regulatory frameworks, three sets of licensees, and one regional industry that rarely gathers in the same room. On October 29, it does. Operators, cultivators, regulators, advocates, researchers, and people looking to join are together for the fellowship the industry needs and the advocacy the region deserves.

Why this night matters

Every dollar raises funds for The Tea Pad Fellowship— a twelve-week program pairing a foundation in cannabis science and policy with a paid, mentored industry placement — built to move women from the margins of this industry into its labs, grow rooms, dispensaries, and boardrooms, with the goal of permanent employment. Fully funding one Fellow costs $15,000.

Program

6:00 PM — Doors, networking, live music from the Eric Scott Trio with infused and functional beverage vendors
Elixirs, tonics, syrups, and bitters from DMV brands. Consumption is optional; non-consuming guests are welcome.

7:00 PM — Remarks and featured guest
Founder Jacquie Cohen Roth, MS, on how Tea Pad went from a 1920s jazz-scene speakeasy to a 501(c)(3) workforce pipeline for women in cannabis STEM.

Live fundraising thermometer — watch the room fund a Fellowship in real time.

7:30–9:00 PM — Open networking
Cross-market conversation, unstructured by design. Bring cards. Bring the deal you've been meaning to start.
