APERICENA - SAVORING ITALY
In anticipation of the XI Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, which takes place in November and this year celebrates the theme “Italian Cuisine as UNESCO Heritage: Territories and Excellent Supply Chains,” the Italian Cultural Society invites you to our journey through Italian regions: "Savoring Italy!, a cultural experience paired with an apericena (an informal light dinner - a combination of aperitivo and cena).
Our 6th stop is Lombardia, an area which beautifully mixes past and present. Lombardia holds the highest number of UNESCO World Heritage sites in the country, yet also stands as a global leader in fashion and trade.
We will savor the region’s culinary traditions and enjoy excellent wines, including a tasting of prestigious Franciacorta, one of Italy’s finest sparkling wines, crafted using the traditional method.
Ornella D’Angelo, instructor of our popular cooking classes and a native of Milano, will delight us with delicious bites inspired by her city.
Prof. Annelise Brody Morani will present the region’s beauty, culture, and culinary traditions, offering a captivating journey through history, art, anthropology, and gastronomy.
This in-person event is your chance to mingle with fellow food enthusiasts, Italy lovers, and make new friends. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to taste Italy right here in Washington D.C. Buon appetito!
