This Grandparent’s Day, we invite you to a discussion with former Virginia state delegate, Kristen J. Grandparents live longer, so they have more time to play a role in their grandchildren's lives. But now that the generations often live farther away, it can be difficult to see and spend time together. T<a href="https://www.oldtownbooks.com/item/dyTmK-xA7a1ppDed9fBC6w" title="https://www.oldtownbooks.com/item/dyTmK-xA7a1ppDed9fBC6w" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">HE GRANDPARENT EFFECT</a> looks at how grandparents can and do play a huge role in their grandchildren's lives. It talks about how they can support their grandchildren, from encouraging reading to driving kids to athletic practices to reinforcing and teaching family values. It shares ways grandparents can help kids do better in school beyond just showing up for the holiday concert.Her 40 minute talk will be followed by 20 minutes of audience Q&amp;A, after which attendees may get their books signed.
