Description
Join us over your lunch break to learn about the Block-by-Block Community Safety and Wellbeing Initiative's Thunderwing Project.
Block by Block Community Safety and Wellbeing Initiative is a Manitoba Government Initiative in collaboration with Manitoba Justice, Manitoba Families, Manitoba Education and Training, Manitoba Health, Living and Seniors, the City of Winnipeg, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, Winnipeg School Division, Winnipeg Police Services, RCMP and Community Based Organizations. In summary, Block by Block is about:
- Collaboration - working together, learning from each other, building relationships, linking organizations and agencies, improving communication, and shared decision making
- Mobilizing and coordinating resources and services to better support individuals/families
- Improving community safety through enhancing individual/family well being
- Removing systemic and policy barriers to service delivery
- Doing things differently
Thunderwing is the first project of the Block-by-Block Initiative. It aims to increase community safety and improve individual and or family well-being in the William Whyte, Dufferin, or Lord Selkirk Park neighbourhoods. Thunderwing mobilizes and coordinates existing resources across sectors to give individuals/families the support they need so they can prevent and permanently stabilize crisis situations.
Everyone is welcome to this FREE event! Light refreshments will be provided.
