About this event

Please join us for an interactive discussion about resilience in graduate school and beyond.

Dr. Ahna Skop is a Professor in the Department of Genetics and also an affiliate faculty in Life Sciences Communication and the Division of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She mentors both science students and art students in her lab. In 2016 she was awarded the first ever Chancellor's Inclusive Excellence Award. She has served as a board member for SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science) and currently serves on the ASCB (American Association for Cell Biologists) Minority Affairs Committee where she has broadened her impact on underrepresented students nationally.

Dr. Skop will be providing a short lecture regarding failures, successes, and resilience in graduate school and beyond. We will then have an opportunity for reflection in breakout rooms and a Q&A.
