Threshold Practice is a movement based workshop that seeks to facilitate a container for movers to explore what creation feels like when it rests in the space between departure and arrival. A threshold is a transition point - a transitory space between what was and what will be. Threshold Practice asks for presence within emotional and spiritual trans-liminal spaces rather than arrival at any set point. The practice will center breath, awareness, embodiment, and movement exercises that slowly build in intensity throughout the workshop, journeying from practices that encourage presence with the inner world into co-creation in relation to space and collective. Threshold Practice is a trans queer arts practice at its core that aims to create a portal of access to deeply authentic research and expression. It may use language or themes that might be uncomfortable for some attendants, touching on grief, rage, erotics, or death/rebirth. This workshop welcomes to all bodies curious explore movement and the body as a portal; no dance background is required.
