Intro to Lifting will provide the foundational skills of strength training across a variety of equipment, from bodyweight to TRX to bells! We'll look at form + functional movement, basic lifts + terminology, and go through practice together as we develop and train in a sustainable, accessible way. This course is meant to provide the basis of TSFC's Lift Class---members can move directly into this class upon completion or repeat if desired.

Frequently asked questions

I've never done strength training before; can I come?

Yes! This is an all levels class, and there will be many modifications provided throughout the course to make it as accessible as possible.

How many people will be in class?

We cap the class at 5-6 people so that the trainer can work with both the group and provide personalized support and feedback if you want it. All classes (except community classes) are small on purpose.

Do I need to bring anything? What should I wear?

You can BYO mat if you want, and we have them available in studio. Bring a water + be ready work! Wear clothes that are comfortable to move in; be aware that we'll be practicing swings + bigger movements. You must wear sneakers in studio.

Can I just drop in for class?

Because we're capping at 5-6 people, we cannot guarantee a spot in class. Always a good idea to enroll ahead of time to ensure you're in the class you want.

Can I take all 4 weeks?

Sure! You can come as many times as you want--we'll cover many of the same skills but across different tools, formatting, and obviously awesome playlists. It should feel fresh and fun every time you come to practice with us.
