RIVERWOOD CLUB HISTORY
A group of Professionals had the idea of organising a Toastmasters Club that meets in the morning before work starts.
So on 28 May 1993 Twenty Chartered Members (20) started setting an enjoyable environment meeting originally in the early morning of Mondays at 7.00am as a "before work" meeting.
This club was known as Fairway Toastmasters Club whose venue was a rented room at Hurstville Civic Centre. Most of the members were working around the area.
After years of fun meetings, the group could barely meet as most of the chartered and experienced members moved residence and or changed jobs. In 2008, a few experienced members of other clubs took on the tasks of reviving this club.
Realising that the neighbouring areas other than Hurstville have a few clubs operating, it was decided to move the meeting venue in Riverwood, thus a change of name from Fairway Toastmasters Club to Riverwood Toastmasters Club.
We had a 30 year celebration in May 2023.
