There will always be strings.

In celebration of their 2019 inaugural season, Ambo Dance Theatre is pleased to present "There will always be strings", an evening-length dance production inspired by psychological research on relational attachment.

Attachment Theory posits that there are four attachment styles that can be nurtured by one’s life experiences: secure attachment, anxious-preoccupied attachment, dismissive-avoidant attachment, and fearful-avoidant attachment. One’s attachment style not only influences how we interact with friends, family, and romantic partners, but also has implications for how we interact with our work, process and cope with complex emotions, interpret and respond to memories, and, ultimately, understand ourselves. Using contemporary/modern movement, nontraditional lighting, projection, original music, and helium balloons, Ambo Dance Theatre brings you a raw, intimate, and vulnerable examination of how we develop attachment, how our attachment style manifests in our adult lives, and how we confront insecure and unhealthy attachment in our lives.

This performance is being hosted by Horizons Dance Theatre. A post-show discussion, led by Artistic Director Amberly M. Simpson, will take place after each show.
