About this event

The Young Fables create music with classic storytelling weaved into Americana roots music with pop sensibilities. East Tennessee natives Laurel Wright and Wes Lunsford are influenced by timeless treasures like Patsy Cline, Bonnie Raitt, Glen Campbell and Chet Atkins. The duo’s unique sound has resonated with audiences around the globe as live performances have become stages from which The Young Fables discuss themes and topics typically saved for the therapy couch. Strong advocates for mental health awareness, The Young Fables are focused on helping to erase the stigmas surrounding the topic. Recognizing the duo’s advocacy, the pair were honored with The Troy Gentry Compassion Award in 2021 for compassion, commitment, kindness and love.

The Young Fables last played at the Ross Farm in 2022, along with showing their award-winning film, Fable of a Song, to an appreciative audience. We are excited to have them back for a full set of music, including songs from their new album, "Short Stories," on Saturday, July 13.

Opening the concert will be New Jersey's own Jake Thistle, who at only19 has performed in Europe and across the US, and for crowds of thousands at major music events. His first studio single, Ghosted Road, garnered the Best Americana Song of 2022 Award from Indie Boulevard Magazine. He has been featured on numerous radio, television and industry news outlets, and has played with rock legends and picked the brains of rock royalty along the way. We're excited for this pairing and look forward to introducing Jake to the Ross Farm as he's played some great NJ venues and earned quite a fan base.

Bring your own seating (chairs or blankets) and feel free to bring a picnic or snacks, we just ask you to carry out what you carry in.
