The Wonderful World of Word

Audience: PreK-12 Teachers, Staff, and all administrators Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced

Attendees will need to bring fully charged laptops in order to work hands-on in this workshop.

Microsoft Word will be the backbone of this training, with an emphasis on Immersive Reader (a valuable learning tool to help struggling readers and writers). Participants will also have the opportunity to develop classroom/department newsletters. Have you ever had student writing that you tried to communicate the overuse of certain words to the student? Using a student’s word document, you can use word clouds to show them any overuse in a nontraditional way for them to visualize their word choices. Time permitting, audience can guide discussions into blogs in the writing lesson or wiki use.
