Description

The Water Summit -- the Water Education Foundation's premier annual event -- is a daylong conference featuring leading policymakers and stakeholders providing the latest information and viewpoints on issues impacting water across California and the West.

The theme for this year’s summit Water Year 2020: A Year of Reckoning reflects upcoming regulatory deadlines and ongoing efforts to improve water management and policy in the face of unprecedented episodes of drought, flooding and wildfire that challenge the status quo and demand improved approaches.

The summit is an ideal event for water district managers and board members, state and federal agency officials and regulators, city and county government officials, farmers, environmentalists, attorneys, consultants, engineers, business executives and public interest groups.

Registration includes coffee, materials, gourmet lunch and a reception that will offer the opportunity to network with speakers and other attendees. The summit also features a silent auction to benefit our Water Leaders program featuring items up for bid such as kayaking trips, hotel stays and lunches with key people in the water world.

We are sold out but there is still a chance to attend! Click the green "Tickets" button near the top of this page to join the waitlist.

The mission of the Water Education Foundation, an impartial, nonprofit organization, is to inspire understanding of water and catalyze critical conversations to build bridges and inform collaborative decision-making.

Our history dates back to 1977 when California was in the second year of a major drought and water was at the forefront of the news. The Foundation’s articles of incorporation were filed on Feb. 27 of that year, creating a nonprofit, nonpolitical, tax-exempt educational organization. Today, the Sacramento-based Foundation remains a vital source of nonpartisan, in-depth information about water resource issues in California and the West. Taking a steady pulse of the water world, the Foundation provides a vast repertoire of educational materials, products and services such as our water tours, lectures, conferences, workshops, our flagship Western Water news articles and Project WET (Water Education Today).
