The Vineyard

Mission:The Heartland Theatre Collective tells rich, powerful stories of Texan women of the past, present, and future that features female artists working in Austin. Our plays are poetic, visceral, and revitalize sustainable theatre practices in our community. The Heartland Theatre Collective enriches the lives of Austin audiences and artists by creating simple yet theatrical performances that generate transformative moments for all who participate in and experience our plays.

The Heartland Theatre Collective

The Vineyard by Nicole Oglesby, is a daring, sensuous new play about a group of vagabonds living at a winery in Central Texas. Using fringe technology and science, they explore the boundaries of self-healing and transcendence. The Vineyard is uniquely-told, heartfelt story about falling in love and coming of age in a world filled with uncertainty and boundless scientific discovery.
Performances will be at 7:30 pm on October 31, November 1, November 2, November 7, November 8, and November 9. There will be matinee performances on November 2 and November 9 at 2:30 pm. 50% of box office proceeds from the November 2nd 2:30 pm performance will benefit ScriptWorks. 
Tickets are $15 - $25. VIP ticket holders will be seated first at 7:15, followed by General Admission ticket holders then Student/Artists ticket holders. We highly recommend VIP ticket holders arrive at the theater by 7:15 at the latest to take advantage of the VIP status! Trinity Street Playhouse located at <A TARGET="_blank" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">901 Trinity Street</A> on the 4th floor of First Baptist Church. Due to the theater's location we recommend carpooling or taking a rideshare or public transit if possible. There is street parking available around Trinity Street Theater.
The Vineyard is being presented with the assistance of SCRIPTWORKS through the FINER POINT FUND FOR NEW PLAY PRODUCTION.

Thursday, October 31st - Halloween Celebration! Attend our performance of The Vineyard in costume then hang out after for a costume contest, halloween themed drinks, and fun times with friends!
Friday November 1st - Dramaturg Katy Matz will lead a talkback with the cast and creative team. Stay after the performance to ask questions, hear from local theatre-makers, and learn how new plays are made!
Saturday November 2nd - Saturday's matinee show at 2:30 pm will benefti ScriptWorks. 50% of box office proceeds from the November 2nd 2:30 pm performance will benefit ScriptWorks. Playwright Nicole Oglesby and Director Marian Kansas will lead a one-hour workshop to discuss director-playwright collaboration and new play development. They'll discuss their own artistic processes and how they've evolved over time as they've learned more about developing new work. More details to come!
Friday November 8th - Dramaturg Katy Matz will lead a talkback with the cast and creative team. Stay after the performance to ask questions, hear from local theatre-makers, and learn how new plays are made!
Saturday November 9th - Are you a new actor looking to get involved in Austin theatre? A playwright looking for a local director? An established company leader looking for new talent? Then join us for Heartland's first ever Emerging Artist Meetup! Performers and theatre makers of all disciplines and experience levels are invited to join us at Latchkey for the opportunity to network with other artists. More details to come!
