The Space for Music – FALSA – an evening of mystical Sufi music
Join us for an evening with FALSA, a transcendent Sufi ensemble whose music is as emotionally stirring as it is spiritually resonant.
Join us for a rare and intimate evening with FALSA, a transcendent Sufi ensemble whose music is as emotionally stirring as it is spiritually resonant. Led by vocalist Umer Piracha, Falsa draws on the deep well of the Sufi tradition to create soundscapes that are dynamic, devotional, and utterly transportive. Their performances are known for evoking a powerful sense of longing, remembrance, and surrender.
Born from Piracha’s own return to his homeland of Multan, Pakistan, after nearly a decade away, Falsa’s music is rooted in the emotional texture of diaspora, spiritual searching, and the raw beauty of simply feeling. The band merges Qawwali vocals, Carnatic violin, Hindustani tabla, Bass VI, harmonium, and drums to create something both ancient and utterly new, a spiritual music that is deeply human.
Whether you’re into spiritual jazz, post-minimalism, or sacred music traditions from South Asia, this is a night to let the noise fall away and step into something deeper.
Expect an evening of minimalist beauty and ecstatic improvisation, where the line between performance and prayer begins to blur.
This is not just a concert. It’s an invitation..To remember what you’ve forgotten…To sit with what you’ve been avoiding…To feel your way back home.
Seating is limited. Advance tickets are strongly encouraged.
