The Space Between
The Space Between is a 4 hour workshop that combines TaKeTiNa, Ecstatic Dance and Deep Rest with Justin Holland and Charlotte Roberts...
On the eve of winter, you’re invited to slow down and listen.
This four-hour workshop is a gentle journey into stillness, through rhythm, movement, and rest.
We begin with Taketina—using simple rhythms and the body to settle the mind and open awareness. From there, we move into free, intuitive dance, allowing whatever is present to unfold. We close with deep rest, giving space for the body and nervous system to soften and integrate.
This is a space to pause, to feel, and to reconnect with the quiet underneath it all.
No experience needed. Just come as you are.
Testimonials
“I had never heard of TaKeTiNa but after my first session I was hooked. Never before had I experienced such a meditative yet stimulating and utterly grounding practice all in one. Justin is an incredible facilitator. To be in his grounded and peaceful presence is a tonic alone for the often frantic, busy world.”
Emily (Musician)
“TaKeTiNa has transformed my approach to music and life. This process has facilitated deep healing through entraining my nervous system towards regulation and social connection. Through a variety of interactive activities involving voice activation, rhythm awareness and movement, I was taken gradually into my inner unprocessed, suppressed emotions and memories which I could then liberate from my system. As a musician, TaKeTiNa took my creative expression to another level by allowing me to not only understand polyrhythms, but to embody this wisdom so that when I create music it comes from an innocent place where mystery dwells. I would recommend TaKeTiNa to anyone interested in inner exploration, wellbeing, personal growth, and fun!”

TAKETINA
We will explore the TaKeTiNa Rhythm Process, as developed by Reinhard Flatischler. Participants begin with a mantra, gradually layering simple repetitive steps, claps, and call-and-response singing.
As these primal rhythmic movements unfold, we are invited to step out of the rational mind and release habitual linear learning patterns. In doing so, we enter an embodied listening that engages the senses, intuition, and collective field.
This process supports a shift into simultaneous awareness — a place of emptiness and deep connection — offering fertile ground for new beginnings to arise. TaKeTiNa is a powerful tool for emergent rhythmic consciousness and trance-like states.
Participants are encouraged to make mistakes while remaining playful and curious. This practice welcomes both beginners and experienced participants alike, creating a shared field of exploration.

ECSTATIC DANCE
Participants will be guided into a free expressive dance journey exploring the space between breath, body, and one another.
Set to carefully curated evocative music, this somatic journey invites the release of self-directed movement and an openness to being danced by something larger. As old patterns dissolve, new movement, expression, and possibility can emerge.
Ecstatic Dance offers a powerful and complementary contrast to the structure and unison of TaKeTiNa — a space where freedom, intuition, and renewal can be fully embodied.
DEEP REST – Integration & Renewal
Integration is essential to somatic learning. This workshop will conclude with a deeply restorative practice, allowing the body and nervous system to absorb, settle, and renew.
The Deep Rest will be accompanied by silence and ambient live music — a sound healing journey featuring Charlotte’s voice, crystal bowls, gongs, piano, and flute. This closing ritual supports the gentle planting of seeds for the year ahead.
