Join us in the InLiquid Gallery for the Screening of five shorts by Black Directors as part of "The Source of Self Regard¨" Exhibition

On Saturday, October 11, from 3-6pm, InLiquid will host a film screening of five short films by Black directors, with a panel discussion hosted by Tayyib Smith, the curator of The Source of Self Regard.

The Source of Self Regard brings together 6 artists with roots in Philadelphia to examine the Black self in a powerful celebration and affirmation of belonging. Learn more here.

“Living Proof” (2022)

Description: On the night of the biggest live performance of his life, The Queen of the Castro succumbs to an acid trip that may derail everything he worked so hard for.


“One Last Night” (2025)

In the 1960’s, two young lovers set out on a hopeful first date, only to have their world turned upside down by a shocking event that shatters their dreams of true love and the pursuit of the American dream - freedom.

An experimental documentary about the Philadelphia communities in and around Bartram Village public housing and the adjacent historical Bartram's Gardens. This contemplative collage of audio interviews and slow-motion video explores relationships between place and self, and the multifaceted narratives of home, joy, and struggle.


“Illadelph Dreams: R U Robot” (2025)

As Earth faces imminent destruction, a spirited detective interrogates 5 unusual suspects after a late-night raid at Philly's most popular underground club. His questions uncover a radical plot uniting Earthbound humans and rogue cyborgs in a last chance to escape off-world before the planet is destroyed.
