Rooted in cast iron construction and the invention of the passenger elevator, the modern skyscraper is a uniquely American phenomena — and New York City has arguably the greatest collection of high-rise architecture in the world. Which were some of the earliest "cloud scrapers" in the Big Apple and how has the movement evolved locally since the late 19th century? It's time to explore the skyscrapers of New York like never before.

Join New York Adventure Club for a three-part series surrounding the iterations and developments of the high-rise building and its generational impact on New York City's skyline. In Part Three: Mullions & Millionaires, we take a look at the new age of residential and commercial high rises in the city, as well as how green spaces are being worked into urban design.

Led by architectural historian David V. Griffin of Landmark Branding, this digital showcase featuring a selection of unique structures will include:

• The invention of the all-glass curtain wall and its presence on Park Avenue
• Development of the plaza, monumental artwork, and the atrium
• The creation of “POPS” – Privately Owned Public Space
