The Shift Summit, is a one-day conference designed to support early-career professionals strengthen their ability to collaborate across industries, leverage creativity, and develop solutions to social and economic challenges while connecting them to the future of Omaha.This experience is built around three learning pillars:Social Innovation, Economic Liberation, and Holistic Innovation.Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how their ideas, skills, and lived experiences can contribute to shaping a more innovative Omaha. At its core, The Shift Summit exists to help the next generation of innovators move beyond networking and inspiration toward meaningful collaboration and action. An interactive workshop exploring how pressure, trends, and profit shape what we create, what we hold back, and how we innovate. Participants will reflect on how to navigate these realities while still creating from purpose, leading with authenticity, and unlocking new ideas and opportunities.

The Rooms You’re Not In (Yet): Access, Influence, and How Change Actually Happens

Big ideas don’t create change—access does. This session breaks down how influence actually works: who makes decisions, how doors open, and why some voices are consistently left out. We’ll unpack the hidden rules of leadership spaces and explore how to position yourself to be invited—or build your own room.

Participants will leave with practical strategies to increase visibility, navigate gatekeeping, and move from being adjacent to power to actively shaping it. This is an honest, strategic conversation about access—and how to claim it.


Social Innovation Workshop

Reimagining Workplace Systems to Support Caregivers

Beyond Resilience: Reimagining Workplace Systems to Support Caregivers is an interactive innovation lab focused on one of the most urgent workplace issues hiding in plain sight: employees caring for children, disabled loved ones, elders, and multiple generations while trying to remain focused, available, and promotable at work. Participants will move beyond individual coping strategies and work together to identify hidden barriers, challenge current assumptions, and spark new ideas for better workplace support. Through scenario-based reflection, reverse brainstorming, and rapid concept development, participants will leave with fresh starting points they can continue exploring in their own organizations.

Holistic Innovation Workshop

Celebrate the early innovators helping shape Omaha’s future. The Closing Award Ceremony will recognize three individuals whose creative vision, collaborative impact, and willingness to challenge conventional thinking embody the spirit of The Shift Summit.
