The Scout Guide Mix & Mingle at David Alan Collection

We are honored to share that the David Alan Collection, a founding member of The Scout Guide San Diego, and a gallery of handmade, one-of-a-kind of modern organic wood furniture, rare antiques, artifacts, and petrified wood and custom wood slab tables located in beautiful Solana Beach, is hosting a very special event on August 17th, 2023 from 4-6:30PM, hor d'oeuvres and drinks will be served.
David Alan Bardwick, the Owner of David Alan Collection, embarked on his regular hunting and buying trip in Bali during the depths of the Covid recession when he stumbled upon an undeniable need. The pandemic had virtually halted all travel to Bali, resulting in the collapse of tourism—the island's main source of income—leaving a majority of the population unemployed. Witnessing the distressing situation faced by his Balinese friends and their families, David realized that they were going hungry. Compelled to alleviate even a fraction of this desperate hardship, he established a new Bali branch of his and wife, Amita’s, 20 year old non-profit, Ignite, A Foundation for Learning. The Bali project, which relies entirely on volunteers, is detailed in his book, THE UNSEEN PEOPLE OF BALI.
On this special occasion, David will share inspiring stories, be available to sign copies of his book, and address any questions regarding how we can contribute to this cause. All proceeds from the book go towards providing food and daily necessities, including medical referrals to the Balinese people in need, in addition to any contributions raised.
