weekly session where we learn about robotics and invite attendees to practice on real hardware (remotely)

Ever wanted to learn how to use a $35k robot arm?In this free 1 hour session we will introduce you to programming the <a href="https://www.universal-robots.com/products/ur5-robot/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">UR5</a>, a widely used industrial &quot;cobot&quot; (&quot;collaborative robot&quot;, intended for workspaces shared with humans). The session will begin with a brief overview of the theory of robot arms. Then, two methods of programming the arm will be demonstrated: the UR “teach pendant” and the C++/Python package ur_rtde. Finally, we will provide an example program that attendees can modify and run on the arm, remotely.We assume no prior knowledge of robotics.
