Adam Vazquez, Vice President, at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company

Come join Adam Vazquez, Vice President for Hewlett Packard Enterprise's Global IT Architecture & Transformation share his personal journey on becoming an IT leader in Silicon Valley. He will share some key lessons learned from his career related to leadership, growth and management.

Adam Vazquez Biography

Adam is responsible for defining and operationalizing the architecture for the Information Technology landscape as well as pan business transformation initiatives for one of the largest IT companies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. His architectural influences spans the 3400 executives, managers and engineers within Global IT and includes enterprise & data architecture, emerging technologies, and governance and tools. This oversight influences the systems that run all of HPE’s businesses.

One of the current key transformation initiatives Adam is driving is an end to end transformation of the IT landscape for the Software business within HPE. Within an accelerated 11 month timeline, the program will take the 600+ current system landscape and reduce the total # of apps by 75% and increase cloud-based applications by 80% through 20+ best in class SaaS providers, all while reducing IT run costs by 30%. It will take the current 27+ order management and sales systems and optimize them to 1 order management and 1 sales system enabling the software business with seamless integration, faster and better data, and the speed to win in the marketplace.

Since his tenor at HP/HPE, Adam has instilled and strived his organizations to be industry leading. Under his leadership, he has led multiple organizations including the information management space where he drove operational excellence for over 25K databases with industry leading results of 5 9’s of availability. He has also instilled a culture of automation and a new focus on cloud, big data, security & mobility. He’s led the first IT introduction of our database cloud service transforming a 90 day process down to minutes and assisted in external HP/HPE customer engagements worth multi-million dollars in potential deals.

Prior to joining HP, Adam was with Advanced Micro Devices for 13 years where he held a number of leadership positions. While at AMD, Adam was the senior Information Technology manager with full accountability for email, end user messaging, collaboration, SAP Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) administration and security, and global database engineering and operations. Adam also spent 9 years at Lockheed Martin prior to AMD within the Information Technology and Services team as a senior software engineer and application development leader supporting Human Resources, Finance, and Procurement organizations.

Adam drives a strategic technical organization but also has a personal passion for community and philanthropy. Each quarter, across all his core sites, he brings his team together for a volunteer day to help a local charities and groups. He is also a strong early career advocate with a global university hiring program and sits on several university boards helping influence current and future technology curriculum.

Adam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from California State University Chico and is based in Palo Alto, California.
