These shows are presented as a part of Projectorfest 2025, a weeklong showcase of ambitious multimedia-driven comedy projects. More at projectorfest.com. This performance includes two 30-minute shows.

THE REAL STORY OF FRUIT - Luke Strathmann
On the third day, God made fruit. On the sixth, He made Luke Strathmann. Since then, Luke has taken 5,000+ fruit photos (e.g., on trees; selfies) and built dozens of fruit sculptures (you’ll find out what that means)—Part art tour, part spiritual quest, this show explores history, religion, blueberries, Bronx fruit wholesalers, Brooklyn’s fruit-named streets, and ultimately, mostly, Luke’s phone.

POWERFUL POINTING: A LIFE IN SLIDESHOW INVITATIONS - Ben Taylor
Join Ben Taylor as he shares the PowerPoint invitations that have built his social life, and then watch in awe as he makes a member of the audience their very own interactive event announcement using the greatest E-vite software ever invented (he's talking about PowerPoint).

ABOUT THE CREATORS

Luke Strathmann is a comedian and writer who also runs the communications team at Yale’s Department of Economics. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker and McSweeney’s, and he is the proud host of ‘EconLOL’ at Caveat, the world’s first, best and only economics-themed comedy variety show. His favorite fruit is Papaya, despite his brother saying that it tastes like feet.

Ben Taylor is a science educator, improvisor, and the Manager of School Groups at the American Museum of Natural History. Since 2012, he has organized and hosted Nerd Nite, one of the oldest fun-yet-informative bar-adjacent presentation series, in cities across the country. He is currently the guest host of Nerd Nite NYC. He loves speaking in front of PowerPoint presentations very, very much.
