The RBG Ball (Red, Black & Green) will serve as the kick-off and fundraising event for the Chattanooga Festivals of Black Arts & Ideas.

This Black Tie & Africana gala includes the 3rd Annual Black Arts Awards which honors local artists in music, dance, visual arts, literature, theatre, and film. This year we will also introduce 6 historical African Queens and Kings who will be available for public appearances and school visits throughout the year.

The meal will once again be curated and prepared by celebrity chef and 2021 Food Network "Chopped" winner Kenyatta Ashford.

Our Mission

The mission of the Chattanooga Festival Of Black Arts & Ideas: Juneteenth Independence Day is to showcase emerging and established local artists of African descent who are creating, innovating and producing extraordinary work in the disciplines of dance, film, literature, music, theater and visual art. By producing a multidisciplinary festival CFBA&I will build greater community awareness of the diversity of Black arts within the city of Chattanooga and Ha​milton County.

In addition, the festival's mission is to provide opportunities for discussions and lectures on a variety of topics that connect Black arts to other important areas in our society. This is the “Ideas” part of the festival. 

Our Vision

The Chattanooga Festival of Black Arts & Ideas: Juneteenth Independence Day will gain a reputation for providing audiences with artistic experiences created by Black artists that are extraordinary, enriching and educational.
