Securing Africa's Digital Future
AQC Q2 2026 Roundtable
Post-quantum security. Quantum communications. Critical infrastructure readiness.
In Q2 2026, the Africa Quantum Consortium will convene a focused Roundtable on Securing Africa’s Digital Backbone.
The session will examine the security infrastructure African institutions must begin preparing for now: post-quantum cryptography, quantum communications, cryptographic inventory, key management, secure telecoms, financial-system resilience, digital identity, and critical infrastructure readiness.
The timing is urgent. Governments, banks, telecoms, cloud providers, standards bodies, and security vendors are already moving from awareness to migration planning, pilots, tools, and implementation roadmaps. Africa needs a clearer view of the risks, the available pathways, and the practical steps institutions can take.
This Roundtable will bring together stakeholders across quantum security, cybersecurity, telecoms, finance, digital public infrastructure, policy, education, standards, and critical infrastructure.
The session will include a practical partner segment where relevant organizations can present concrete pathways for African stakeholders, including pilots, training programs, technical tools, fellowships, funding routes, standards work, research collaborations, and implementation support.
Each partner will be asked to address four questions:
- What is the opportunity or pathway?
- Who is it for?
- How does it support Africa’s quantum-security readiness?
- What are the next steps?
This session is for students, researchers, cybersecurity professionals, policymakers, regulators, educators, companies, funders, public-sector actors, and institutional leaders working on or adjacent to Africa’s digital-security future.
The goal is simple: make the landscape clearer, make serious pathways visible, and connect them to the people and institutions ready to act.
Join us for a focused working session on Africa’s quantum-security readiness and the practical steps now in front of us.
