The Producer's Circle: Information Session

The Black TV & Film Collective is a 501c3 non-profit organization that works to create opportunities for people of color to achieve sustainable careers in television, film and digital entertainment. Toward this aim, we function in three key areas – knowledge sharing, relationship building and production support.Knowledge Sharing: The Black TV & Film Collective routinely conducts classes, workshops and events to help artists both gain new skills and reinforce existing ones in the areas of screenwriting, producing, directing and cinematography. Additionally, we provide multiple opportunities for artists of color to share their knowledge with those around them. Some of our most popular events include theWriter’s Room, theProducing CircleandOffice Hours.Relationship Building: Every month the Black TV & Film Collective leads relationship-building events. These are opportunities for our members to both increase their network within the collective, but also with industry professionals outside of collective membership. Some of our most popular events in this area include theSpeaker’s Series,the Pitch SessionandFilmmaker Meet and Greet.Production Support: For artists who are developing or producing a documentary, narrative feature, short, web series or TV pilot, we’re a critical resource. The most important resource that independent content creators can tap into is a supportive community.Office Hoursare open to the public and allow artists to come in and get help with their productions. Additionally, our Member’s Project’s Board is in place for artists to recruit cast and crew. Our membership database is searchable by skill or function to allow producers and content creators to directly find the support or crew they need. Lastly, we produce high quality creative content, which allow artists to increase their experience and professional resume.Everything we do is aimed to increase the equity and inclusion in storytelling. By telling our stories and helping others to do the same, we will decrease ignorance and increase empathy and understanding in our society and human race. We are proud to boast that in pursuit of our mission, over 1200 artists and allies have joined our ranks as members.We are headquartered in the Crown Heights area of Brooklyn, New York.

Meeting bi-monthly, the Producer's Circle will assist in the development, prep, production, post and marketing life of a project. Whatever your end goal, this circle of experienced producers is here to help you achieve success.<BR><BR>Want more information? Come out on January 8th to learn more. <BR><BR>Start the new year off with a plan to move your projects forward with the support of a network of filmmakers who want to see you win. <BR><BR>Eligibility<SPAN CLASS="text_exposed_show">:<BR><BR>- At least three producing credits (from associate to producer)<BR>- A well written narrative script: feature film, short film, web-series, new media<BR>- An outline of a production plan<BR>- BTFC membership at the Advanced Membership support level</SPAN></SPAN></DIV>
