About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Ben Mauger's Vintage Jazz Band returns to Rosensteel for another great afternoon of Traditional / Hot Jazz. Ben's band has performed at some of the top Traditional Jazz festivals and Jazz Societies up and down the East coast. To include: Hot Steamed Jazz Festival (CT) Suncoast Jazz Society (Fla) Tri State Jazz Society (NJ) Pa Jazz Society (PA) PRJC (MD) Bethlehem Musikfest (PA) along with many many private functions in Philadelphia / DC / Baltimore area that required a top notch 1920's / and New Orleans Style Jazz Band.

The leader Ben Mauger (Trumpet & Cornet) has performed with some of the top musicians in the field of Traditional Jazz. He has shared the bandstand with (to name a few): Bill Allred (trombone) Dan Levinson (reeds), Alex Watkins (trombone), Dave Sager (trombone). Ben's main influence is Louis Armstrong & Bix Beiderbecke. He likes to explore and honor both great musicians by playing one set on cornet playing Bix tunes & one set on trumpet of Louis Armstrong material. He plays some of the harder Louis & Bix songs that don't get played much. So be sure to not miss this program. This will be a HOT one.

Ben will bring his Pennsylvania All Star lineup to include:

Trumpet / Cornet & Leader - Ben Mauger (New Cumberland, Pa)

Piano : Bob Kreitz (Wyomissing Pa)

Trombone – Bob Peruzzi (Bethlehem Pa)

Reeds – Dave Wilson (Lancaster Pa)

Bass – Tom Hilliker (Mt. Joy Pa)

Drums – Doug Kulp (Stevens Pa)

Rosentsteel Hall is a few blocks from the Metro's Red Line (Forest Glen), has plenty of parking, a spacious dance floor, table and chair seating, and has a cash bar with snacks. Come join us!
