OCTOBER: BIKE LANE GHOULS + HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST
In the spirit of Halloween, all witches and warlocks are encouraged to attend in their best Robert Moses, Power Broker, or NYC-inspired costume and enter to compete in the debut Power Joker Costume Contest. The first 10 costumed freaks through the door who wish to participate will join Moses on stage to be judged in front of approximately 120 civically-minded nerds.
This month, Moses is haunted by bike lane evangelists, journalist Gersh Kuntzman (Streetsblog) and micromobility advocate Miser (YouTube). Plus, diabolical performances from comedians Just Lunning (NYT, Polygon) and Bimini Cricket (Miss Subways 2025).
Featuring The Triborough Authority Players, Adrienne Ianniciello (Characters Welcome, UCB) and Will Jacobs (The Other Two, UCB). Hosted and produced by Sam Rogal (Magnet Theater, Story Pirates) and Evan Forde Barden (UCB, Magnet Theater).
The Power Joker is one terrifying hour of pitch black comedy haunted by that horrid “mad genius" Robert Moses and his 1974 cursed text, The Power Broker by Robert Scare-o. Come see RM in the undead flesh joined by a ghost of creeps, freaks, witches and ghouls for a putrid menagerie unlike any other. For any soul who once loved The Power Broker, or wants to cast a spell on New York's car-centered infratorture. Boo!
