The Pollinator Protection Class

Sustainable Solano is a grassroots, countywide movement uniting people through work that aims to serve the future of Solano County, to promote ecologically regenerative, economically and socially just communities in a world that works for everyone. We nurture initiatives for the good of the whole. Sustainable Solano has grown out of decades of dedicated community work that started with community gardens and has grown to include an emphasis on creating sustainable, regenerative environments, community capacity building, supporting local food systems and building youth leadership and workforce skills for a better future.

A class on the current pollinator crisis and how we can take action to support and protect our pollinator neighbors

This important and timely presentation on the Western Monarch butterfly, the wild bee population, and other pollinators, covers facts about Monarchs and other pollinators.This class will discuss:<ul><li>The current pollinator crisis and how it happened</li><li>An overview of what The Monarch Milkweed Project is doing to educate, propagate and advocate on behalf of our pollinators</li><li>How the average citizen can help increase our pollinator populations and restore habitat in both public and private spaces </li></ul>The presentation will last about 1 hour, with about 30 minutes at the end of the meeting dedicated to a Q&amp;A.<h4> </h4>The Monarch Milkweed Project is a 501(c)3, volunteer run nonprofit. They are always accepting donations to support their work educating the community and planting habitats to support pollinators.
