Learn the tricks to making your very own delicious pies with expert baking team of Honeypie Cafe. This very special class is taught by Honeypie's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Pie Officer, Valeri Lucks.

Held inside our Honeypie Bakeshop Kitchen inside our cafe, Palomino, our very hands-on classes will guide you through a variety of different aspects of pie making and give you a peek into the life of a bakeshop. In each class you will make your own treats to take home. There will be lots of room for questions and answers during each class so come with all of your crust conundrums and filling inquiries . Classes are approximately 2-3 hours and are limited to 12 people. Classes are designed for ages 14+. Class requires that you stand most of the time and work at a table in a working professional kitchen. If you need an accommodation to attend please let us know, we can make adjustments to our set up.

This class is a hands-on lesson in making a from-scratch, buttery shortbread pie crust and a cream filling. The most delicious, creamy filling exactly like you'll find in Honeypie's favorite cream pies. We will make both the crust and a basic cream filling that you can practice again at home. We will learn how to build upon the cream base to create many different pie flavor options. At the end of class you will have one - 9 inch cream pie to take home.

Tickets for class includes all of your ingredients, recipes with tips and tricks, you finished pie and a drink ticket for the bar good for a tap beer, well cocktail, wine or any NA beverage.


(Please note, we often have long wait lists for our pie classes. Tickets to class are non-refundable if you cancel without more than 72 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of class, you are welcome to email us, and we will offer your spot to a person on the waiting list. If it is taken by someone waiting, we will refund your ticket. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend and they can attend in your place.)

Valeri Lucks is the co-founder and Chief Executive Pie Officer of Honeypie Cafe + Bakeshop in Milwaukee, WI.  Armed with her mother's pie crust recipe, she has been baking pies since she was knee-high to a grasshopper.  Pies are the darlings of her locally-focused restaurants Honeypie, Comet, SmallPie and Palomino as well as her mail-order pie program, PieGram.  Valeri's recipes and pies have been featured in Food and Wine magazine, Travel and Leisure magazine, Time Out Chicago, Time Out USA, Milwaukee Magazine, OnMilwaukee.com, Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, Wisconsin Public Radio and the Discovery Channel's United States of Bacon.  When she is not baking pies she can be found sampling bourbon with her husband and playing records for her dog.
