Learn the tricks to making your very own delicious pies with the expert baking team of Honeypie Cafe & Bakeshop. Held inside our bakeshop kitchen at our sister cafe, Palomino, our hands-on classes will guide you through a variety of different aspects of pie making and give you a peek into the life of a bakeshop. In each class you will bake your own pies to take home. There will be lots of room for questions and answers during each class so come with all of your crust conundrums and filling inquiries . Classes are approximately 2-3 hours and are limited to 12 people. Class requires that you stand most of the time and work at a table in a working professional kitchen - we can arrange for a seated work area, please let us know if you need that accommodation!

This pie class is a hands-on lesson in making crumbs crusts and delicious lime and lemon fillings led by Honeypie Bakeshop's Founder & Chief Executive Pie Office, Valeri Lucks. Come prepared to learn the fun history and how-to of the key lime pie and other "icebox" style pies. We will make two (2) - 8 inch pies in class (pies are freezable for a future party!)

Tickets for class includes all of your ingredients, your finished baked goods, a recipe with tips and tricks and a drink ticket for one (1) tap beer, well cocktail, glass of wine or NA beverage from our bar.


(Please note, we often have long wait lists for our pie classes. Tickets to class are non-refundable if you cancel without more than 72 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of class, you are welcome to email us, and we will offer your spot to a person on the waiting list. If it is taken by someone waiting, we will refund your ticket. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend and they can attend in your place.)

Valeri Lucks is the co-founder and Chief Executive Pie Officer of Honeypie Cafe + Bakeshop in Milwaukee, WI.  Armed with her mother's pie crust recipe, she has been baking pies since she was knee-high to a grasshopper.  Pies are the darlings of her locally-focused restaurants Honeypie, Comet, SmallPie and Palomino as well as her mail-order pie program, PieGram.  Valeri's recipes and pies have been featured in Food and Wine magazine, Travel and Leisure magazine, Time Out Chicago, Time Out USA, Milwaukee Magazine, OnMilwaukee.com, Milwaukee Journal Sentinal, Wisconsin Public Radio and the Discovery Channel's United States of Bacon.  When she is not baking pies she can be found sampling bourbon with her husband and playing records for her dog.
