The Pen Push is a five-class course for aspiring and/or practicing song writers and rappers of the afrodiaspora to explore pushing their pens in unconventional and boundary breaking ways. We will be getting very freaky with language, exploring the instrumentation of our voices, while grounding ourselves in the precedent that black music traditions and stories have left us. Throughout this course, we will be creating pieces to be shared in a final public showcase on October 25th.
20 seats available! Must attend at least 3 sessions to participate in the final sharing. Class package is $80 for all five sessions:
9/20 - The Foundations / 12pm-2pm
9/27 - Resonance / 12pm-2pm
10/4 - Space & Time / 12pm-2pm
10/18 - Finding Voice / 12pm-2pm
10/25 - Culminating Performance / 4pm-7pm
