About this event

Welcome!

My name is Tasha Tanks Keynote Speaker and the Visionary behind No Longer SILENT—a powerful grassroots movement shaking the silence around domestic abuse, created to equip survivors to own their stories, speak up, and become powerful advocates. By sharing their truth—whether the abuse happened in families or intimate partner relationships—they not only begin to heal, but also help expose patterns that thrive in secrecy. At No Longer SILENT, we believe storytelling is a form of activism. We turn pain into power, silence into strength, and survivors into leaders who inspire awareness, accountability, and transformation.

As a Keynote Speaker and domestic abuse survivor creating a space, such as a brunch for healing, empowerment, and truth-telling is one way I can uplift individuals—especially women who endured domestic abuse—who have long felt silenced or overlooked. Have you ever felt like you're carrying layers of emotions that need to be gently uncovered? I did. I was the onion—and journaling became my peeler.

Starting at 17, I began writing my truth. But long before that, in elementary school, art was my silent outlet. I didn't realize it then, but drawing, sewing, and even cooking were my early ways of expressing pain, joy, and everything in between. These creative outlets became my safe place—my tranquil space.

But journaling was different. It was the knife that cut deep, causing the tears to fall—the raw, unfiltered emotion. And sometimes, I didn’t have the right knife. I made choices from a place of abandonment, rejection, fear, and anger—especially toward my biological father. But writing gave me a voice when I had none. It helped me peel back the layers and start to heal.

Join us for a transformative experience where we’ll explore how journaling, creativity, and community can help us confront our past, express our truth, and begin the process of healing. Whether you're just beginning your journey or deep into your own process, this space is for you.

This brunch is not just a meal, but a movement. Attendees may experience pain being unpacked, find their voice, and begin their healing journey. The event includes faith-based journaling, storytelling, breakout sessions, catered meals, and empowering resources for participants.

To bring this vision to life, Tasha Tanks is No Longer SILENT. As a community that uplifts the power of voice, healing, and unity, we can create meaningful change by speaking out. If you’re passionate about breaking cycles of abuse and amplifying survivor voices, purchase your ticket today and become apart of a powerful movement.
