The Nutcracker

USA Ballet Academy is a non-profit, 501 c(3), dance studio that teaches Vagnova, the traditional Russian style of classical ballet. They offer a disciplined setting combined with a fun and enthusiastic approach of the teachers.Working hand in hand with all aspects of the community has always been a strong part of the USA Ballet’s vision. Annually, free performance tickets are given to seniors, at-risk and special needs youth to attend a theatreperformance. In order to reach as many in our community as possible, we also travel to facilities and organizations who could otherwise not attend. Whether in a theatre or on location, we always perform in full costume to provide the most enjoyable and cultural experience possible. Another way we reach out to the community is to provide tours of our facility so that an understanding can be learned and appreciated of how a ballet/dance organization is run. Every program we offer has the commitment of education, exposure and stimulation for the art of dance, and the dedication to make a difference in the lives we touch.Programs have included our partnership with the Unity Center, Girl Scouts, ISU Women’s Softball Team,Children’s Discovery Museum, Autism Society, Bloomington Library, Bergner’s, Little Jewels Learning Center,Bloomington/Normal Cultural Festival, Day of Dance, Farmer’s Market and Downtown BloomingtonAssociation’s community events. We are always looking to expand our involvement with other organizations.It is the purpose of the USA Ballet to create, develop and maintain ballet/dance as a performing art, throughperformances, workshops, and to provide outreach programs by world-class professional dancers and to train,develop and nurture students in the art of ballet/dance regardless of race, color, sex, religion, ethnicity, genderidentification/orientation, disability or age. To further USA Ballet’s charitable mission, free tickets are providedto seniors, at-risk youth, and those otherwise financially unable to attend and be exposed to ballet/danceperformances, as well as traveling on campus to senior facilities, schools for the previously mentioned purposes.Being successful in our mission improves the cultural landscape of Bloomington/Normal and all the communitieswe serve.

USA Ballet highlights the talented youth in our communities. Support local art!   Our rendition of the holiday classic is very family friendly and suitable for all ages.
