The NET Gathering

~a unique community experience


The NET Gathering is a QUARTERLY event wherein students, neighbors and tourists gather together to feed the spirit, share resources and break bread together. The event begins with a communion sacred service led by our divinity leader filled with inspiration, follows with a light meal, conversation and story telling. You will enjoy the Plant/Flower/Food Garden Tour outside an architectural treasure Isla Vista Church, concluding with a walk to Isla Vista's splendid Mesa for a panoramic view of the ocean.

Street parking, with surrounding parking slots for those who come early.

A Garden tour?

Garden tour includes talk about magnificent Isla Vista Church and light history of United Methodist ministries and global presence.

Walk to Isla Vista mesa?

The walk is a mere few blocks from the garden to the flat-topped natural elevation displaying the splendor of the vast ocean.

Is there a charge?

This event is free and open to the community. As a non-profit, the church will accept offerings and donations. Cash and checks would go in an enclosed envelope and a tax-deductible form will be available. A QR code will be presented for those desiring to use their cell to give.

Who will staff this event?

We will have volunteers and security personnel serving as welcoming committee.

How should we dress?

Comfy beachy wear, although it gets windy cold sometimes.
