The Multi-Hyphenate Filmmaker Workshop

The Multihyphenate Filmmaker Workshop offers aspiring and emerging filmmakers a practical framework for successfully creating films while filling multiple key creative roles. Through case studies, planning exercises, and industry insights from established multi-hyphenate filmmakers, participants will learn how to navigate the complex balance of wearing different hats, maintaining creative continuity, and leveraging the advantages of being a multi-hyphenate filmmaker while avoiding common pitfalls. Perfect for creators who want to take control of their filmmaking journey while understanding when and how to collaborate effectively.

Join multi-hyphenate filmmakers Timothy Mark Davis and Edson Jean, who both just premiered feature films where they served as director, writer, producer, and lead actor, for a no-BS workshop that includes an honest keynote on the mindset needed to wear multiple hats and script to screen case studies using scenes from Edson and Tim's films!

Includes a small bites and drinks networking reception on the patio immediately following the workshop.

Funding for this workshop provided by the Broward County Cultural Division.
Co-hosted by the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and Savor Cinema.
