Form is a powerful tool for summoning and directing creative flow whether through homage, dialogue, or direct address. In this way, we will engage composer John Cage’s mesostic as a gateway to an expanded poetic practice.

giovanni singleton is a California-based professor, editor, and creative working at the intersections of language, sound, and visual art. Published works include Ascension, winner of the California Book Award Gold Medal, and AMERICAN LETTERS: works on paper. The often spare quality of her work is concerned with what Lu Chi describes as “tracing echoes to their sources”.

Registration is required. This creative writing event is hosted by the MFA in Creative Writing program at Dominican University as a service to the public and there is no charge for participating.
