The Mask

The Mask

Barrel RoomPortland, OR
Overview

“The Mask” is a thought-provoking, radically honest experience exploring the crossroads of Black identity, authenticity, and success.

The Mask explores the crossroads between cultural identity and success—unpacking the unspoken pressure to shift our speech, behavior, and presence depending on who’s in the room, the spaces we enter, and what’s at stake if we show up fully as ourselves.

At the center of it all is one question:
At what cost do you belong?

What to Expect

This isn’t your typical networking event—it’s a cinematic, immersive experience designed to challenge, reflect, and connect.

Through raw conversation, storytelling, and shared moments, you’ll experience:

Cinematic storytelling: A powerful spoken word performance to open The evening
Real narratives: A panel discussion featuring Black corporate professionals and entrepreneurs sharing real, unfiltered experiences
Interactive moments: High Energy Game With Prizes
Curated conversations: that go deeper than surface level networking, on authenticity, assimilation, and the power of owning your Blackness unapologetically

More Than a Moment

This experience is just the beginning.

The Mask is designed not only to spark conversation—but to equip you with resources to better navigate the spaces you enter.

Whether it’s corporate environments, creative spaces, or everyday life, this is about positioning you to move with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.

Just truth.
Community.
And experience that will challenge how you see success—and yourself.
