The Longest Table of Athens is the inaugural event where nearly 500 community members of Athens-Clarke County will come together and share a meal while sharing their “One Good Thing.” This event will present an opportunity for community members to encounter people who come from all walks of life, allow them to share the same space, and will be an important step in fostering community and starting important conversations.
Athens is one of the most diverse communities in the state of Georgia. Our goal is to use the strength of communion around one table to bring together this community. We’d like YOU to be a part of this effort.
As Envision Athens works within our community concentrating on the five pillars of 1) Healthy Athens- Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder, 2) Abundance Athens- Food Security, 3) House Athens- Affordable Housing and Homelessness, 4) Create Athens- Arts & Culture, 5) Educate Athens- Workforce Development, it is abundantly clear that WE as Athenians share more commonalities than differences. The vision of The Longest Table Athens is to come together as a community to find commonality within the theme of “One Good Thing” while sharing a meal.
