Cathy Stefanrec Ogren began her writing career scripting plays with her neighborhood friends and persuading their parents to come and watch with the promise of Oscar-winning performances. Before becoming a full-time writer, Cathy was an elementary school teacher, working with second and third grades. Her last years in education were spent as a librarian in a small school where she was passionate about introducing new and diverse books to her students. She is also the author of the non-fiction picture book, "PEW! The Stinky and Legen-Dairy Gift from Colonel Thomas S. Meacham," published in 2023. Cathy believes in writing books that children can use as magical tools to spark curiosity and imagination and teach them about the world.
