<h2>**Registration has now closed**</h2><h3><a href="https://www.un.org/ldc5/content/ldc-future-forum" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Please join us online at the official LDC Future Forum website.</a></h3><p></p><p>Decades-old problems can only be meaningfully tackled through openness to new ideas and innovations. The LDC Future Forum is an opportunity to revisit all our assumptions in the development conversation and approach it with new thinking, and data-driven solutions. The Forum will bring together renowned and up-and-coming academics with policymakers and practitioners to solicit new thinking on old challenges and make policy recommendations for the LDCs for the next decade. </p><p>The LDC Future Forum will take place in person in Helsinki, Finland for invited guests and online the general audiences. Register to receive the streaming link. </p><p>At the Forum, bold and innovative solutions will be introduced into preparations for the Fifth United Nations Conference on LDCs (LDC5), taking place in Doha in January 2022. It will tackle the structural challenges and emerging issues faced by LDCs and introduce policy recommendations to support them to achieve the Sustainable Develope Goals, build competitiveness and move towards convergence with other more developed economies.</p><p>Media are encouraged to register for in-person and virtual attendance. Full details will be emailed directly to registered press in due course.</p><p></p>

<p>Selected academics, selected through a competitive process, will present their research findings on issues affecting LDCs. Several world-renowned academics, including Professors Jeffrey Sachs, Joseph Stiglitz and Richard Jolly will join representatives from LDCs and their development partners. </p><p>To see the full programme, visit the <a href="https://www.un.org/ldc5/content/ldc-future-forum" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">official event page</a>.</p><p>With support from the Government of Finland, the Forum is being organised by the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) in collaboration with the United Nations University World Institute for Development (UNU-WIDER) and the Sustainable Solutions Development Network (SDSN).</p>
