Join CoDesign Collaborative and Aidan Petrie, Managing Partner, New England Medical Innovation Center (NEMIC), for a free virtual lightning talk on May 14, 2025, from 12:30-1 pm ET / 9:30-10 am PT. Aidan will share expert insights and explore themes around the importance of user-centered design as deployed in the medical device industry, as well as the importance of the integration of design throughout innovation chain management. This lightning talk will help attendees learn more about how design plays a role in the commercial viability of a product in the context of health technology.

About Aidan:
Aidan is a founding Partner of NEMIC (New England Medical Innovation Center), New England’s MedTech venture hub, and a Fellow of the Provost at RISD, focused on intersections between user-centered design and healthcare. He is a member of Cherrystone Angels and a mentor and advisor to many startups. He also co-founded the Magpie MedTech Venture Fund, which provides pre-seed capital investment and clinical and regulatory expertise to Medical Technology and Digital Health startups through a synergistic partnership with NEMIC. Aidan was the founding partner of Ximedica (now part of Veranex), one of the world’s leading medical device developers.

Aidan's passion for innovation and design has helped bring hundreds of products to market, ranging from simple drug compliance aids to wearable therapeutics, home monitoring products, and complex surgical systems.
