About Your Facilitator: Raina Satori
Raina Satori is a longtime improviser, movement facilitator, performance artist, comedian and creative guide devoted to helping people reconnect with their innate capacity to play, adapt, and create in the moment. With over 30 years of experience in performance, embodiment, and expressive arts, she specializes in creating welcoming, grounded environments where curiosity leads and perfection is gently retired.
Raina’s work bridges movement improvisation, theater and comedy improv, vocal play, and reflective practices, offering participants a chance to explore creativity through the body, not just the mind. Her approach is deeply informed by contact improvisation, movement meditation, and expressive arts, and is influenced by lineage-holders such as Anna Halprin, Martin Keogh and Constantine Darling. Whether you are brand new to improvisation or a seasoned performer, her facilitation meets you exactly where you are and invites you to expand from there.
Known for her warmth, humor, and attunement to group dynamics, Raina has spent decades guiding people through playful risk-taking, embodied listening, and collaborative creation. She is the creator and producer of numerous original performance projects including The Shamanic Cheerleaders, The Ridiculum Curriculum Comedy Show, and So This Is Menopause, each exploring the intersection of comedy, ritual, and collective experience.
Beyond the stage, Raina is a veteran teacher and community builder who understands that improvisation is not just an art form, but a life skill. Her classes support participants in strengthening presence, trust, spontaneity, and resilience, skills that translate directly into relationships, creative work, and everyday life.
At the heart of Raina’s facilitation is a simple intention: to create spaces that feel safe, playful, and alive where people can practice saying yes, listening deeply, and discovering what emerges when we move, make sound, and create together.
