Old Hollywood is back!
Celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend sipping cocktails and dancing the night away with The Big Band Alumni, a full 19 Piece orchestra featuring Bill A Jones and Nancy Osborne, with Guest Vocalists Franny McCartney and Windy Barnes Farrell. One welcome drink included with each ticket.
The Big Band Alumni is considered THE premier Big Band in Southern California, having played The Academy Awards Governors Ball, The Reagan Library, and opened for Tony Bennett. Members have performed with pop icons like Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Ray Charles, Rod Stewart, and even Lady Gaga. Band leader & singer Bill A Jones was in the cast of Glee, and female vocalist Nancy Osborne is herself Grammy nominated.
Guest vocalist Windy Barnes Farrell has been featured extensively on world-wide tours with such legendary artists as Julio Iglesias, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Bolton; and Franny McCartney was one of Bette Midler’s revered & adored “Harlettes.”
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Alumni was established by former members of the greatest big bands of all time, like Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey and The Les Brown Band of Renown, and have since played over 1000 performances.
This Gala supports the restoration of The Women’s Club of Hollywood’s National Historic Landmark property at 1749 N. La Brea Avenue.
