The High Priestess at the Whisky a Go Go

The High Priestess is a witchy hard rock band fronted by Reyna Gonthier who moved from New York to Los Angeles to pursue her career in music. She met her band mates, Max Dennert (guitar), and Austin Chavarin (bassist) while attending the Los Angeles College of Music. They were later joined by Joey Cotero who is also the drummer of Sleeping Dog.

Sounds of dark, powerful melodies, The High Priestess tells compelling stories of Reyna’s life. “It’s about feeling the intensity of every aspect of life, and it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.” The music is evidently inspired by mythology, fantasy, witchcraft, art, and literature.

Their debut single “Set the World On Fire” came out on February 7, 2025.
