About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Our words make a difference. For any public communicator, saying something that connects with the audience is essential, but that’s often easier said than done. What’s the best way to be emotive, relational, and practical while also keeping to the point? With so much to think about, it’s possible for your message to go in one ear and out the other. Yet there are ways for any speaker to enhance their communication skills and better impact listeners.

At The Heart of Communication, Rob Parsons will bring together 50 years of public speaking experience in one event. He has spoken to over a million people – multinational organisations, governments and congregations, and in every setting, he knows how to create an authentic connection with those listening.

Plenty of people train for years to hone these skills, but in just two short hours you can get ahead of the curve and understand concepts that many popular speakers struggle to grasp. Rob will unpack key methods that will help you not only speak to the head, but to the heart.

You’ll leave with:

  • Tried and tested techniques for better preparation
  • Creative ways to utilise the power of storytelling
  • Tactics for avoiding the most common distractions
  • Insight into the power of vulnerability
  • An understanding into why we lose an audience
  • The ability to discern the ‘two types of critic’
  • A fresh hunger for inspirational communication
  • Methods for communicating effectively to camera
