About this event

Description from the artist -in-residence, Eliza Day Green:

This course is one I started to teach online at the beginning of the Pandemic. I was finding such solace working in my studio at that time but was hearing from friends and fellow artists that they were struggling. I felt a daily creative practice that focused on intuitive processes to relieve stress and anxiety. Excellent for beginners or seasoned artists looking for a creative reset.

During my two-week art residency at Annex Arts I would like to offer one of the sessions that I cover in my five-week course.

Intuitive Collage: A process that lets you enjoy material and manipulation without being overanalytical. I love “intuitive collage” because it does not require traditional art training to be successful. It offers a level creative playing field. This exercise will always tell you something that you do not yet know about yourself. It communicates a “growth edge” that can be a spark for many creative endeavors.

Materials: All material will be provided but I suggest you bring a sketchbook/notebook for warm-up exercises and note taking along with your favorite pen.
